- However, Dr. Nathorff managed to escape Germany in 1939 before the outbreak of war

- Young boys with signs saying "don't buy from Jews" and "don't go to Jewish doctors" lined the streets
- "Anybody who buys from a Jew is a traitor"
- April 25, 1933
- A letter from Charlottenburg municipal authorities: "You are requested to cease your activity as a senior doctor at the women's advice center."
- August 30, 1933
- The growing tense atmosphere in Germany is apparent
- October 2, 1934
- One of Nathorff's colleagues goes mad because she could no longer practice, and her license had been revoked
- December 30, 1934
- Growing amount of suicides by people who could no longer stand the continuing defamation and spite
- December 4, 1935
- Growing persecution intensifies
- One woman has her deceased grandmother dug up and is no longer allowed to work as an artist, and she must also give up her boyfriend who is a senior officer
- Nathorff says life is becoming a living death for them
- August 5, 1938
- All Jewish Doctors and Nurses lose their licenses to practice medicine via radio broadcast
- Nathorff says this is how we Jewish doctors learnt of our death sentence
