Hitler, MEIN Kampf

Mein Kampf offers an early glimpse into the philosophy of Hitler. Some of the books major themes, highlighted in Perry's selected passages, include Aryan supremacy, the use of propaganda, and the need for German expansion.

Racism and Anti-Semitism:
Hitler's racism is grounded in his warped conceptions of human history and natural order. Some disturbing quotations:
"Nature does not want a pairing of weaker individuals with stronger ones"
"All great races of the past have perished because the original race was destroyed by the poisoning of its blood"
"The Jews lack the very qualities distinguishing creative and culturally blessed races"

Propaganda:
Hitler believed that the masses had to be directed toward the truth, not deceived
Apparently the people reading this did not find that view to be a contradiction

Lebenstraum
Hitler wanted to go big-- take Russia, France, everything.
Goal: to secure the territory to which "the Germans are entitled"

Five words: Young Hitler is frightening. ACK!!!!!
